A simple solution to CICI mapping

In the summer of 2012, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) designated the CICI Utility - http://www.ciciutility.org – as the provider of CFTC Interim Compliant Identifiers (CICIs). The CFTC has mandated the use of the CICIs for regulatory reporting. This means institutions subject to CFTC reporting need to identify themselves, their counterparties and the reference entities of their contracts with CICIs. The use of these temporary identifiers is compliant with the larger LEI initiative coordinated by the Financial Stability Board.

This requirement leaves all financial institutions with the significant task of mapping all their internal entities to the CICI file. Moreover, as of June 2013, only a small number of entities have been assigned a CICI identifier - about 78,000 - meaning that the mapping exercise has to be done on a regular basis. This is where we can help you!
